One of three releases originally meant for travel retail as part of Dalmore’s Fortuna Merita range. Luckily a few bottles have made it on to our shelves! Fortuna Merita translates from latin as “fortune favours the brave”, and certainly, Dalmore have been bold in their choices of casks!
Dalmore Luceo is the mid point of this range, with the Dominium finished in Matusalem Casks, and the Regalis finished in Amoroso casks. Luceo is finished in Apostoles casks. Apostoles is a fascinating sherry, beginning its life much like a Fino – maturing under a thick layer of flor – before continuing its maturation like an Oloroso, with no flor. It is then finished for a period in Pedro Ximinez casks. The whole process often exceeds 30 years’ worth of maturation. A fantastic provenance of cask; this complex, rich and intense sherry is a perfect pairing for Dalmore’s thick and jammy spirit. A real beauty of a sherry bomb.
